Every time we visit Waiheke we enjoy snapper, chips, tartare & coleslaw at Yhe Local. Always great & the best value on the island!

Famtastic little spot! The food was delicious and Andy the dog was a great host!

Simple, but very tasty & fresh food (we had Fish Tacos) with a view from the terrace at the rear - great option when looking for a place to eat in Oneroa!

Amazing food and great service. I think that's the first time I've had a steak burger/sandwich where the steak was actually cooked like steak! Thank you for a nice meal.

Great snapper n' chips, friendly service, and a gorgeous view. Prices reflect the view and island location. First two beers I chose from their menu were unavailable. Good music and good vibes.

Perfect little spot to enjoy NZ authentic fish and chips (and fish tacos are great too!) while enjoying the beautiful view of Oneroa Beach. Has nice little vibe and the owners are nice and humble as well.

Our group of 23 showed up with no booking as we got a last minute recommendation from our shuttle driver to have lunch here. The staff/owners were extremely accommodating and helped us join tables, organise a large order and brought the food out very quickly! Everyone loved their fish and chips. The fish was super fresh, the chips were yummy and the side slaw complimented the fish and tartare so well! The place is a prime spot, tucked down some stairs on the main strip and opening up to a gorgeous view of the beach! We felt very lucky to have gotten a recommendation for here and even luckier at how great the service and food was, even so last minute! It's also about a 15-20 minute walk to Matiatia Ferries along a very scenic stretch of road. Super convenient! Great way to finish up our day trip to Waiheke Island. Dietary restrictions: The fish and chips is halal!

I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the BEST fish n chips I’ve ever had!!! The staff was awesome and the view was amazing. Also their Green Apple Cider was delicious!

Nice place with delicious fish&chips (the fish was fantastic), a little pricey but it was worth it. Nice and welcoming staff.

Fun and friendly atmosphere, a great place for a quick drink on your ventures. Sadly didn't have time to taste the food menu. But will definitely be back, even just for the view and banter, staff and management go above and beyond.

The deck has stunning views with great service from the team. As for the food, the fish and chips were good and filling, the fish burger was very tasty but the star of the show was the squid dish. Absolutely delicious with a crisp flavourful batter and soft tender squid that is so difficult to come by. Will definitely be back in future.

The best fish and chips I've eaten so far! The salad, the freshness of the sauce and the fish itself was so good. The fish tacos were also delightful. We just missed out on the beautiful ocean views though. Despite that the ambience was perfect, rhe service quick and the staff super friendly and helpful.

Great fish and chips. Loved the portion of the basket. DF slaw was excellent. Wish I could take some home. Cashier/bartender(possibly owners) were excellent too! Andy was our favorite though!

One of the best fish and chips I haven't had for a long while. Pork belly pop corn is a must try🍿. Very friendly staff and Andy the dog. Kids loved it. If you are here on Waiheke island. Make sure you pay them a visit.
